Comment about the Emperor's test is referring to the Phoenix hairpin. Just because he gave it to her doesn't mean it's smooth sailing for her or that he'll immediately crush any enemies that look at her the wrong way (although he'll probably meddle if given an excuse,) and having the hairpin is a trust test. Basically not only can she brag about having it, but has to protect it as well from being damaged or stolen. If a thief somehow stole the hairpin she'd lose face for not being able to protect it and the emperor would lose face for trusting it to someone who couldn't hold on to it.
@Dragox She used an archery trick, maybe a little daoism, some physics manipulation, and plot armor to shoot like that. IRL can't shoot like that without using three strings and even then the arrows wouldn't be able to extend the range of each other.
