It's not like they can prove he did anything as long as the body isn't found and it's not like the demon king would have said anything about it if he could avoid it.
As long as they never found the body and the MC never said anything it would have been written off as a freak accident.

At least don't go out of your way to preserve the body of a high ranking individual of a foreign kingdom, knowing that they would have never believed/guessed that otherwise.
