Let’s see how this changes the overall timeline. The ceremony I could see happening due to a historical context. But still it must be unnerving to experience.

Also a bit weird as well. What was the previous generation trying to do or was the tradition is much worse with it's original context? I do hate it when history is getting buried by tradition sometimes.

One thing is certain thou, it breed a generation of noble pervs.

Maybe the establishers of the tradition were just degenerate exhibitionists who wanted others to watch

if we go with historical context in europe, iirc, it's to establish the marriage "properly"

"It symbolised the community's involvement in the marriage and especially in the couple's sexual intimacy, but also their marital fidelity"

it's messed up, but it is what it was back then, and probably why they even stopped doing it eventually back then, and most of these kind of manga usually follow europe history, at least loosely based on it

Welp. As far as I'm aware, Asian history is also messed up as well. Scratch that, I'm pretty sure human history in general is still pretty messed up and it won't change regardless of time or place.

No need to erase you statements. Most of history/culture has bizarre and twisted moments that we would consider unsettling by todays standards.

honestly, i don't know why you even scratch that statement, 'cause i know asian history is also messed up as well lol

though, the reason why i specify europe history in this context, is because, a lot of these manga uses europe as reference, at least most of it, even more of them are even loosely based on europe

not sure if i remember this right or not, iirc, asian also have similiar custom way back then with royalty marrying as well, but the "spectator" if i'm not wrong is sitting behind paper wall

I scratched it because Europe and Asia aren't the only ones with a weird history. Pretty sure they also did something weird in Latin America and Africa and a few parts of world history is more recent that people might think.

They just need a witness, so there's no reason to invite youtube commentor to watch and blab about how he could do it better the entire time. Someone should hire a youtube commentor to follow that fat guy around and comment on literally everything he does. See how he likes it.
