You underestimate how hard it is to keep someone from hurting themselves. Handcuffed? Start pulling as hard as you can. You aren't going to feel the pain. Once that's removed from the equation you have an infinite pool of things you can do. Her plan is stupid as sin.

Like everyone said it makes sense to a certain point. Lavi had been rated with 0 talent to go into dungeons even before the family fell apart. After a traumatic experience where the strongest team is destroyed and everyone came out worse for it and traumatized who would think their weak little brother should go into the same place you just lost your strongest mother, and your father lost his powers and his will.

It's the intellect Devourer snowball situation all over again: You don't have to start strong --you only have to outplay one strong prey and start growing out of control from there.
