It feels like you've suddenly changed your alignment in an RPG, lmao. But I'm more intrigued by the character's intentions than by the sudden change in behavior. Because out of context, it's very easy to interpret all of this in a variety of ways.

The Japanese Wikipedia doesn't say anything about it and barely mentions Mashiro at all (when detailing other characters and arcs), so I assumed she was simply fascinated by her conceit and tsunderness or something. Although this still does not explain such a sudden change in her behavior. But I don’t want to make any definitive statements without seeing how this will develop further.

Anyway, it's possible that the manga did inadvertently change the presentation of events due to the change in format.

I'd reckon it's actually her very first time running into someone who outright wouldn't listen to the very end,and experienced a rush of emotions that could no longer be held back once her dashing prince self found the princess.

I'd say it's her first step of a new psychological development,one that she clearly enjoyed having,and one she'll probably have more of.

History will remember these two as being the best of friends,should we get more of it.

Not a particularly subtle pun, lol. Well, we'll see how the arc develops and will find out what of our assumptions was true and what was not.. According to the Japanese wiki, the author has slightly different favorites among the secondary characters.

Judging by the cover of volume 5, we'll be moving pretty slowly if this is indeed just one arc. If I remember correctly, the anime premieres next month. And even if I don't see Mashiro among the announced cast yet, I doubt the adaptation will be limited to just the first couple of arcs. So it looks like the translation will only be 3 or 4 weeks ahead.

But either way, if you're really that hyped up about the yuri potential in the first place, I'm not sure you'll get what you want. At least not with this pairing.

Fair enough. It just felt abrupt/out of nowhere, because the whole time when she was carrying the legless player there were no hints of Yuki developing this kind of personality. Perhaps this is ye olde adaptation pacing issue and the LN had some extra scenes to smoothen out her turns.

That's was a real argument that I heard, by the way, lmao. As a popular saying in my country goes, "Everyone jerks off however they want."

I mean,if the BFF was butt naked in the cake and over half of the icing was on the BFF,then sure,one could say there's a very slight inkling of affection,especially if they wake up hung over with clothes everywhere but on their bodies,before finding the VHS tape of the whole shebang.
