Judging the Mc for repeatedly saying he doesn’t want anything to do with it while ignoring how many times/people pestered him about it in this chapter alone is kinda funny imo.

I'll give this a go, BUT....
Anything that uses the expression "a certain reason" makes me roll my eyes so hard I can see brain. It is such a cringe plot device that the Japanese massively abuse. They want to hold a reveal back for some inexplicable reason that never pays off. They think that these trash stories demand revelations, but they never live up to expectations. His parents are dead, big wup, he is overpowered, big yawn, he wants to protect his big brother's position in the family, ZZzzzzz... Whatever it turns out to be, it never justifies holding it back for 10 chapters.
Likewise, why does he have to be an arsehole edge lord, moody teenager, and a dumb and oblivious walking cliché?
