To be fair, and I did also dislike the last arc, it was only real shit because the author got screwed and had to finish it when he had an entire arc beforehand planned that he had to scrap.thanks for the chapter. kinda weird to see all these mini-arcs. author has prolly chronic health issues and doesn't want to commit to a longer arc that then turns to shit like the last sunset thing that tanked the original 12 years ago.
i thought the last two arcs or so were dogshit and could fully understand why the series died. too long fighting sequences with no downtime and only the same characters. and it totally felt like endgame right from the start. like the way he jumped right into that arc was so bad already. To be fair, and I did also dislike the last arc, it was only real shit because the author got screwed and had to finish it when he had an entire arc beforehand planned that he had to scrap.
But yeah, I feel like these mini-arcs are probably just to get new readers acquainted with the story. I wish we'd just carry on from the end of part 1 but what can you do. It still nice to be reading more Kenichi after so long. My bet is that the scroll is just a pretext for the actual major plot stuff in like 50 chapters when we're done with the re-intro.
He straight up brought back someone back to life in the first series after they had an incredibly moving 'this is really the final time you will see them' scene. I didn't even blink for this one, honestly."I guess I died there for a bit" ok my man, whatever you say.
It's not like that was only bad arc. The last decent arc was muai tai arc, there Kenichi was almost killed, and Apachai fights with his former friend. After Matsuena started to replace plot with tits, and arcs, even if they had some good moments, wasn't really entertaining. To be fair, and I did also dislike the last arc, it was only real shit because the author got screwed and had to finish it when he had an entire arc beforehand planned that he had to scrap.

even if the mag scrapped all of their old roster, if the series had actually been up to snuff, there would've been any number of ways to salvage it, i.e. transferring it to another magazine, becoming a web manga etc etcKenichi didn't get axed because of quality it got axed because the magazine axed literally every series they had at the same time for some stupid stunt

what's the point of trying to deflect shit?? do you really think anyone is stupid enough to go along with this crap??? i specifically said at the very start that either the last or last two arcs were crap and got this thing scrapped. so there was obviously no need to axe it before that point. If it wasn't up to snuff they would have axed it long before, and moving to a different magazine is actually extremely rare for a series. Especially given they were axing so many at once. Series that declined far more precipitously than Kenichi were given far longer grace periods - Kengan Omega has been worse than Kenichi's lowest points for years and years and is still ongoing.
