@Xross24 Salty scanlators being salty basically.

if I recall correctly, somebody else released chapter 20 faster than iloli, then iloli proceeded to quickly release it too, to then ragequit deleting everyting else with a sprinkle of drama.

You see, japanese tends to silence the letter 'u', so you will only hear 'O r k'
Or vice versa if they read a foreign word they tend to add 'u', so if they read 'Ork', they will say 'O RU KU'

In short, I think the scanlation group should stick with the name 'Ork'

Going with the flow of what you are saying, it's a fact too that when a foreign name ends with a consonant and also the ending syllable is stressed or is a monosyllabic name/foreign word, this one is doubled with "ッ"
For example "Kiss-Shot" 「キス・ショト」
Hence, if "Ork" is his name and not the variant of "Orc" which is the kind... It would be 「オルク」

hmm, i think putting "ッ" there, is putting too much emphasis on the last syllable, i read your example as 'Orcc' or 'Orck'.

search for the word 'cork' in the dictionary it's translated as 'コルク', with that, it's safe to say 'オルク' can be read as 'Ork'

The thing with kana, is that it's a syllabary.
Because it can only tell you how it would sound like, it can't always convey how a word could be spelled as intended in romanji.
That's why we got the whole Aeris/Aerith debate, until Square finally settled with the latter, btw her name is written as エアリス.

Now for the whole Oruku/Ork/Orc thing... オルク/オーク
For that matter, we already established that オーク stands for the species from the beginning from context alone, so either Orc/Ork works just fine. Even though one could write that as [Oak], or [Auc]tion (オークシオン).

As for オルク, in Japan, Warhammer 40k/Fantasy tends to use this "spelling" for their Ork/Orcs, so it's perfectly fine to use that too.
In the end, spelling doesn't really matter as long as it is phonetically the same.

The issue here is, everyone already got used to/accepted the established spelling utilized by ieatloli.

Not sure if I prefer Orc or Oruku. Oruku seems like it could be a name, but I know its just japanese orc. I'm conflicted.

@vessalius Even better when there ARE official ones, yet some seemingly refuses to use them.
I'm looking at you...
Catarina -> Katarina (Can't blame them on this one, I'd default to K too if I was translating this)
Geordo -> Gerald/Giord/Giordo/Jerold

This made me remember the fight of satan vs Man-bear-pig of south park, where Man-bear-pig obscenely kills satan, the caterpillar demon being satan and Ork being Man-bear-pig. That was a short but awesome fight.
