i mean it is japan so i wouldn't be surprised, even among the physical doctors/nurses that ppl would look down on mental health issues if not "you shouldn't be a nurse if you're not mentally stable yourself" (tho idk if Japan has the same stereotypes of the "mean girl bullies in high school you knew ended up becoming nurses")

i think on the interview, Akane is gaslighted(?) by both the president and the old lady to accept the job. they make her second guess herself, and indirectly force her to accept the job.
