I don't know why the author decided to make Izumi an "unlucky" person suddenly a few chapters back. It's a wholy unnecessary setting. I can't read this manga without thinking in the back of my mind that Izumi is probably going to die young in a tragic car accident (or meet Truck-kun one absent-minded day) and leave Shikimori behind. She doesn't deserve that.
