@CBFlap Sometimes you need to introduce a new character to develop existing characters, even if they end up getting sidelined later down the line. Remember that one girl that liked Shikimori and how Shikimori developed after her introduction? This dude might just be a foil to Izumi as we see here. At the very least, it shows that Izumi is somewhat more dependable now than when we first saw him, considering he's being proactive with a relative stranger.
