But I take donations, wasn't that a type of monetization?i'd say it's been dropped from fan based scan. 2 years. as long as you're not carbon-copy another's work, and it's just yours, you should be fine as long as you're not "paid" for it , once you are then you're monetizing it which could cause trouble. otherwise it's greatly appreciated updates to this series has been brought to this dead series.
Do you do the work regardless of the amount of donations (including cases where nothing at all has been donated)? Then I'm fairly certain you're not actually paid for your work. But I take donations, wasn't that a type of monetization?
Ahh yes, it's been 2 weeks now since I received my last donation yet I'm still scanlating continuouslyDo you do the work regardless of the amount of donations (including cases where nothing at all has been donated)? Then I'm fairly certain you're not actually paid for your work.
i have few if you want wink wink poke pokeOh, is that so... I don't want to get into trouble so... I think I'll just try to find another fantasy manga that has been dropped that piqued my interest.
You should use Grammarly on the scripts.
Yeah, regionlocking is absolute sh*t! They mostly just cater to the US and MAYBE some nations in Western EU, as for the rest of us we can go f*ck off, we are not important to the oh so mighty OFFICIAL publishers...In fact, keep scanlating because sometimes the officials are regionlocked (usually to US), so fuck that shit, and why is regionlocking still a fucking thing.
Adbot.@storm_crow @BanditHadron if you disagree, explain why. These chapters needed proofreading which they did not get, and a time-efficient, free way of improving them is to simply use Grammarly on the script.
donations could be to accounts or patron etc, which could "technically" be to you as a person not defined to a particular chapter/translation/ or even to manga. Which also doesn't necessarily tie it to this series, or say another hobby you have. Too vague to be "proven beyond reasonable doubt" that it's paid for that exact purpose, unless you clearly define it somehow 'it's for this x chapter on y series by z author. you could have gotten donations for other projects etc.But I take donations, wasn't that a type of monetization?

many failed groups who get cease/desist orders have plainly posted "buy this chapter" or "unlock that series" with electronic payments on their site, which removes all doubt what it is for, and documented proof to say , and aggressively legal author/publisher.
as a "Fan translation" where it's done as a hobby for enjoyment, and you're getting help from others who don't have time/skills to do the job greatly enters "gray iffy" zone.
TLDR: don't make it obvious you're making $$ off of it if any.
Keep in mind, free opinions is worth what you pay for it. self-research and verification is best.
It's better than what this series has now, and I don't know of any better programs since I don't need them. If I thought the creator would be able to find a proofreader for the series, I'd suggest that, but as a proofreader myself, I feel rather hypocritical if I tell them "find a proofreader" without offering my own services.Adbot.
Joking aside, Grammarly is itself a joke of a program.
