What I find unbelievable in this series is never until now had hero's ended up turning evil especially with some of the domains they control? I'm pretty close to droping this cause I'm finding myself not caring anymores.

Shion mentioned it in this chapter. The title of "Hero" is being passed out just because the recipient is powerful, and their personalities, alignment, and morals are never measured. The situation becomes that just because they have the title, it doesn't actually mean that they're righteous or good. They didn't turn evil so much as, they were just bad apples to begin with.

But thats the thing right? Heroes being evil is unknown but there has to be generations of heroes and none of them went/were evil til now? Surely there would be at least legends of a hero going rogue.

If heroes are needed to fight demons, monsters, and whatnot, it wouldn't be beneficial to remind people of heroes going bad. It would be better to get rid of rotten heroes quickly and not talk about it afterwards. People need to live productively, trusting in the heroes to handle the worst disasters, and, above all, pay their taxes so that those in power can live happily as well. So, I wouldn't say it'd be surprising if few people had heard of corrupt heroes in the past. Only someone wanting to undermine the heroes' popularity and support among the common people would spread such news.

What are the chances the "pope" is the [Curse] hero? The ones with curses gain the ability to use magic that they normally can't use. The pope temporarily bestowed such an ability to a random character, and the [Curse] hero seems to have a feminine body.

I do not, however like the suggestion that there's yet another big bad behind the current big bad [Curse] hero. Introducing another surprise that there is yet another puppetmaster behind a puppetmaster is a way to further stretch out the story and sometimes not in a good way.
