Woah! That's considered victim-blaming? I guess after re-reading the scene, I realize he didn't sound sympathetic enough (saying "yeah, that is really gross. I feel really bad that you had to go through that" or something would be more optimal I think), but I thought his intentions were to just complement Misora-san (maybe not as tactfully as he could have, but still)! To me, it didn't seem to imply at all that "those who were assaulted should be happy because they're considered cute." He never even said that Misora-san should be happy! First-time reading I actually thought that Misora-san was mad because he thought Kaname-san was the one who assaulted him or something!
Hm... it must be one of those non-literal parts of communication. Ugh, maybe my interpersonal skills are not so good, since I totally didn't pick up on that. Well, point noted, if I'm ever caught in a similar situation, I'll need to apply additional super careful safety precautions not to offend anyone.
