I got the vibes of the manga with the bench gag where the dude is asked by multiple girls to help them get with his best friend. Only for him not to only be betrayed by the girls but framed by his best friend. Because the girl the best friend likes, likes the mc.

Except in this manga the best friend is replaced by a standard harem protag that doesn't have redeeming qualities. And the MC doesn't have a dubious goal to blow up in his face.
I think that's "Are you the only one who loves me?"

Lmao they just said that the step sister lost her brother at a young age and tried to stay the same age so that when he comes back he recognizes her. That's probably why she talks like that. Which is kind of sad.
I think it's also a touching backstory to explain why she looks a bit loli. Her body resisting change as she grew up.

I think this is gonna be like that other manga where homie was betrayed by all these women when he grew up and then they later realized how badly they treated him and try to make amends. But maybe with more generic relationships and not all of them suddenly falling in love with him which would piss me off.
I started the first chapter thinking that too, but the way things are told here are way too eerie for all the characters, like some magical realism shit, like god was bored and took a piss on all these people, or some Alan Wake shit and everything here is actually a light novel but the characters start to become slightly insane.

I hope this ends up being some horror thing, but that's just wishful thinking

I hate these side girls so much. If they came between MC and FMC in future, I will print these chapters and burn it to ashes.
I don't think he'll end up with any of the other girls, I think it'll be Shimotsuki, purely because its tags do not include "harem".

Yeah, not gonna lie manga is missing a 'Supernatural' Tag at this point, since they keep blaming some invisible force with no explanation given whatsoever (FLs hearing aside which is already questionable)

It's called "synesthesia" and it's as real as you and me. Rare, but real, well "hearing feelings" is debateable but only those who have it can know for sure. I blame the author for not properly explaining the concept.

That's why I said it's questionable, since her extend seems kind of excessive, then again I wouldn't know, but that wasn't my main point, was more talking about the 'invisible force' they keep blaming ô_ô

the three girls (specially azusa) should be judged using kotaro's judgment.
probably the one that said the hardest and cruelest things to him was azusa (varies depending on WN vs LN) but she's also the first to actually feel remorse and also the one that kotaro actually cares about
shiho herself says it best at the climax of Vol 2:

she wants kotaro only for herself, she makes a special exception with azusa since she will be her sister in the future, and kotaro will never be happy if azusa isn't happy either

also kotaro himself said so in one of their many reconciliations:

it doesn't matter if she's cruel with him or if she's hurt, he'll be there for her always since he's his second onii chan (the first being the dead one, the ryoma look alike)

sometimes i think that those siblings get way more development in their relationship than even shiho and kotaro's relationship since it kinda stagnates (literal plotpoint for the last volumes)

Mentioned in previous chapter...
Is revealed in this chapter. She missed her brother, and Ryouma just conveniently looks like him. Although, later she did realize she wants to love him as a man, not just as replacement for her brother.

Since they started talking again, Kotaro actually supported her. He gives her the pats to her back when she wants to confess her feeling to Ryouma, and encourage her when she got rejected. After that, she put an ending to her love story and back off from the harem.

In the WN, there was a character who fanned the old flame. Mary said, the sweet taste of being in love is addicting, so it's not something you can forget easily. But Azusa still managed to make a closure with Ryouma and settle as being a sister. She also grew close to Kotaro and grow stronger as "little sister of protagonist who doesn't take no as answer" character ^^;;
She's always a girl who focus on what she likes. When younger, she loves reading, and Kotaro always admired her strength to stand for herself. They both got assigned to the same group and both became friends. This experience taught Kirari to enjoy companionship of other, so she seek to connect deeper with Kotaro. She even suggest reading for him, hoping it can inspire him to be stronger like those protagonists. But instead Kotaro choose to be a mob character.

After entering high school, she seems to decide it's hopeless with Kotaro. She found Ryouma, a confident guy, whom she decide she wants to pursue her love with. Only in her pursuit, she got lost in her way and instead caught in the thought of "I want to be someone he loves" and change her appearance, her personality, into someone she thought Ryouma would love. She's also so afraid to offend him.

Later, after Azusa's failed confession made her get off from the harem, and Ryouma's failed public confession, and the appearance of Mary (a new "heroine" for Ryouma), Kirari seems to start doubting herself. She look back to the days with Kotaro, and tried to approach him again.

Kotaro reject her though. First because he already got his hand full with Shiho, and he doesn't want to get into harem situation after seeing Ryouma. Second, because it pained him to see the girl he admired for her strength has now lower herself so far she would lick his feet begging for love.

Later, after Kirari's failed confession (in the LN she never even got the chance) she tried begging Kotaro to take her back. He provoke her. It reminds her of her own pride, that all her effort so far is not vain and she is not going to just beg.
Kirari didn't stop being a gyaru and return to her old self. She only took back the most important part of her personality. After that, she starts to more aggressively show her love to Ryouma while looking at his eyes and not afraid to speak back.

“I love you. You’re a selfish scum, but that doesn’t matter, I love you”

Ryouma, who was quite weakened at the time, also begin to think of her feeling more seriously (he is no longer obsessed with Shiho).
She is weak willed like Kotaro, only following what their parents wish for them.

Yuzuki crave for approval, so she always serve other people. The problem is, Kotaro is not good at expressing gratitude. So in high school, Yuzuki choose to be with a person she can serve.

In the WN, she despaired after she realized Ryouma confessed to her only because he "got no other choice". She is okay with being the second or third girl, but the man she loves is not someone who would take her only because he got no other choice. It made her lock herself up.

In the LN, Kotaro's mother arranged for engagement between them. It's a political marriage, because her family is rich. Yuzuki is alright, she can give up her high school love for the sake of her family.

In boh case, Kotaro can't help. Yuzuki never liked Kotaro (they both show each other the part they hate the most of themselves). For this, Kotaro can only asks for help from Ryouma, because this is where the "Hero" came to turn the tide and save the heroine. Either way, this sealed the relationship between Kotaro and Yuzuki, they realize they don't like each other (especially in LN, Kotaro acted like a jerk to be antagonist for Ryouma to defeat and save the princess).

After this, Ryouma also start to face how Yuzuki really loves him, and promise he will think properly on who he will choose between Kirari and Yuzuki.

She's the type of heroine who will spoil the protagonist rotten. She dedicate herself, and always accept the protagonist no matter how useless he is (as long as he need her).
When she got locked out of her house (her parents went out, and she forgot her key), she choose to stay in Kotaro's place because she knows both of them hates each other. When Kotaro asks why she doesn't stay with the guy she love instead, she answered "do you think I will refuse if Ryouma forced himself on me?". She's the kind who will give him what he wants.

Ryouma himself is special to Kotaro. They hate each other, but while Shiho is the heroine who gives Kotaro the strength to stand up strong, it's always his antagonist (Ryouma) who gives him the power to break over the wall. In the WN, it's from facing with Ryouma in the sport match that Kotaro finally found his own ego. In the LN, Ryouma is the one who gives him the power to take action (or as Mary said, awakening his potential as protagonist who can change the world to his favour

Awesome, thanks for the run down. Now I can abandon this dumb manga without remorse!

No mob-kun, you're not a bad big brother. She's just a messed up and horrible younger sister who refuses to grow up.

EDIT: If you didn't meant Nyanta to pomeko then ignore all the below ramblings. Someone else pointed in later chapters the similar feeling and someone linked to a different manga that has no chapters to read for me so can't read and comment if thats the one you meant (The Girls Who Traumatized Me Keep Glancing at Me, but Alas, It’s Too Late). END of EDIT ;)

I don't think those two are even close to each other.

In the one you mention, the guy is basically accused of SA by one girl, is hated by like whole school cause people accused him of attacking the girl and her not even trying to tell the truth, and few others including one confessing to him for fun cause of penalty game or something. Later in new "time" so where the manga starts they all basically behave like the shit they did didn't really hurt the MC, they basically tell him to grow the fuck up and stop relieving the past so that he can reciprocate their love for him, cause they all still (or again) love him, while he tells them to leave him alone/fuck off. It took them a bit of time and a new girl slowly healing his heart for them shit-stains to finally realize that maybe what they did was actually fucking bad, but the way they talked about it, and their decision to fucking insert themselves into MCs life even if to "help him and new girl to get together", was still kinda selfish. The only point the girls were "OKish" were at the end when MC was already in relationship with the new cute girl, and the asshat girls were kinda teary eyed cause they realised its over for them and MC doesn't even really give any fucks about them any more or something (part maybe sister slowly repairing their sibling relationship).

While from what I seen in few chapters here, plus what people spoilered from LN/WN - MC basically had 3 girls - one step-sister, one childhood friend, and one more - that were in his life, but even if they were interested in him in some way, his retarded "I am a mob side character to someone elses story" gave all of them bad jibs, they simply gave up on him, so when the "harem protag" with his skyscraper level of ego and confidence came - they just moved on from a retard without potential to someone they hoped will be a good guy. Ignoring thou the harem of them 3 going after one dude all the time in both cases :). Thou step-sis initially looked for a brother in both, then later actually started seeing the harem protag as a man, when she moved the brother part back to mob MC.

So like in this 3 girls tried to rizz up the MC, but his self-harm delusions pushed them away, so no real betrayal really happened.

In the cute Nyanta to pomeko multiple girls nearly socially destroyed the guy, made him that "human interaction hating" person, and then kinda betrayed him again by once again going after him initially nearly completely ignoring/belittling the horrible things they did to him.

This is so dumb, alsostep sis azusa is a really bad person. I had a moment thinking maybe she had never said those words and it was MCs delusion but no she really did and whioe regreting her words she only wants to apologise so MC lavishes attention and spoils her? Yeah fuck off.

I forsee like others all the girls are gonna go down this regret path (feels like the bad redemption arc for the pomeko series) and it'll all be underwhelming at best.
