@Castella we don't called them NPCs. That's only used in games.. In stories, Leon and Shell would be categorized as the main characters while Jochi at this point in time would probably be categorized as side/supporting characters.

I agree that he's just a fill-in character while Leon and Shell are away. Probably going to challenge Mao in a chapter or two.

I thought he was a chick last chapter. He also gives off this party member aura.

I was expecting this chapter to crush Mao's spirits, being replaced by this guy that Mei Li seemed to have a crush on (in the last chapter, anyway), after suffering a crushing defeat and subsequent loss of two friends, so this is a pleasant surprise. It makes sense that Mao would be more impressed by his skills than feeling intimidated, considering how he treats his opponents.
