I stopped on that page to question this as well. Might be an error should be aphrodite? Or a possible twist such that in this verse, astaroth stole that title.

I mean, isn't Astaroth's supposed origin derived from Astarte ? Like, the one who eventually became Aphrodite(Venus) due to adaptation ? Regardless, Astaroth as Astaroth (as far as I know) only appears historically as an archdemon, which explains the last part where the mc feels something's amiss, as well as why Athena and Zeus aren't really recognized as gods, that means that demons are related to this, since the Great Duke from Hell, the archdemon present in qlippoth, the great Astaroth who commands 40 legions and is one of the 72 demons of Lemegeton(lesser key of Solomon) is considered a great god...
