Maybe. Honestly, there are some things I really like, but it keeps shooting itself in the foot with contradictions like the author can't actually think for themselves.
He wants to be the mage of justice or whatever, and the king is basically offering him a job as inquisitor. He could literally be paid to make all the evil organizations that plague the kingdom go away.
But no, now he doesn't want to be recognized.
An absolute meritocracy with a royal family still in charge.
Royal guards that were worse than bandits despite the kingdom being a meritocracy.
The protagonist ending up in magic resisting cuffs and not fighting the evil of the new king despite swearing to be the mage of justice.
Someone joked about speed running tropes... the Hallmark channel movies have more variation than isekai recently.
