@grandartillery : a lot of times Japanese don't use gender-specific pronouns, so translator have to guess the correct pronouns to use in that case.

generally the time you use gender-specific pronouns is referring to someone else, not for the person conversing with you

@monkey123 He was dead and a goddess can not interfere with other goddesses disciples directly. So once he was resurrected it was to late to do anything. Not sure why she wasn't present tho. Maybe the goddess was sleeping or somewhere else.

And the baby thing also confuses me.
Edit: I just went back and checked.
There are two babies and they are twins. Ray is short for the dark wizard merged with one of the twins (merged souls) And Ree is the normal? twin. Ray's stat page did not mention gender. Ray wanted mothers milk over cows milk so he/she is most likely strait Male or Lesbian. When he was treating baby Ray the MC poked the face of the onlooking Ree. And then doubted that Ree was indeed just a normal baby. Since Ray was transforming he could have chosen the gender on a whim as well. It is probably best to just treat ray's gender as Hideyoshi for now.
