When chapter 59 came out, it clearly announced that it was ending in 3 chapters (a month and a half). It wasn't unexpectedly axed.
This couple also gets featured in Henjo afterward so really this is just to conclude this manga without shaking up the status quo much. That way this can easily merge back into the main Henjo storyline, which was probably always the goal.

To be fair the announcement is only in the magazine release so if you only read the scanlated version you wouldn't find out. Only people who bought YAC and read C59 there could see this annoucement.
