I was commenting about this somewhere else about how I really appreciate that the king is probably one of the better written failure kings you see in these fantasy series. Usually, the king is either so cartoonishly corrupt or the king is a wise and great ruler. Here, we got a king who isn’t actually corrupt but also isn’t actually good.
