My guess is swapping places with a bug already outside the tower, though it might be just her mind since the mention of gaining levels for a human form makes me think she needs to get back to one.

That's a very interesting guess. I like it more than my ideas because thinking of her escaping into a bug outside and then either still getting caught again or getting tangled up in the aftereffects of the big fight is kinda funny.

I feel like the mangaka made an error in the adaptation.

Aoyuki is the one of the 4 who prioritizes Light and his plans/wants the most over everything else, to a slavish and inflexible degree. She has no pride that would make her pause before sidelining herself.

Furthermore, Aoyuki asked for Nazuna because she also realized the enemy probably had at least a myth class artifact, which explains why even the Fenrir with a vastly higher level couldn't touch him. You need a myth class weapon to fight another, so she knew Nazuna was up.
