The woman is clearly starved for both affection and attention, and having a host someone she pays for the illusion of those too things come chasing after her displaying jealously makes her feel desired, and that sentiment makes her put up with the verbal, emotional, physical and sexual abuse.

On her mind she thinks the guy cares about her enough to search for her, and desires her enough to rape her, it is all bullshit and messed up, but that's the logic of "he hits me because he loves me" that a lot of women in abusive relationships tell themselves.
