You're fixated on the pill as if it's the only option. No contraceptive is 100% effective, but that doesn't mean they're ineffective. Copper IUDs are hormone-free, over 99% effective, and last up to 10 years. Condoms are hormone-free and readily available. Diaphragms, cervical caps, and sponges are all non-hormonal. And even if we accept your premise that the pill is out of the question for female athletes, which is already dubious since some female athletes do use it, that still leaves multiple highly effective alternatives.The thing is, they aren’t a guarantee, and birth control pills fucks up hormone levels so they are out of the question for female atheletes.
