The thing is, they aren’t a guarantee, and birth control pills fucks up hormone levels so they are out of the question for female atheletes.
You're fixated on the pill as if it's the only option. No contraceptive is 100% effective, but that doesn't mean they're ineffective. Copper IUDs are hormone-free, over 99% effective, and last up to 10 years. Condoms are hormone-free and readily available. Diaphragms, cervical caps, and sponges are all non-hormonal. And even if we accept your premise that the pill is out of the question for female athletes, which is already dubious since some female athletes do use it, that still leaves multiple highly effective alternatives.

The worst premise I've ever seen in my life. And considering it's written by the same author as "Harukana Receive", I wasn't expecting that.

And also... Why on earth are these stupid couple afraid of having children if they've never even heard of contraceptives? 🙄🤦🏻‍♂️😮‍💨

Whenever i think Japan can't come up with any more retarded premises, they manage to surprise me every time.

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?

I despair at the comments. They're far worse than the chapter.

And contraception isn't even in the top 3 worst issues with the chapter.

Again, I'll point you and people like you at REALITY, every now and then we hear of Olympic games running out of Condoms, so in REAL LIFE, athletes don't have this super focused mental idea that they can only focus on sports remain chaste and do nothing else in their life.

This feels like is just enabling Japanese servile attitude in Manga
child: can't have relationships because I have to study
adult: I can't have relationships because I have to work
"old" adult: I can't have relationships because I am an old man

at first i'm like "ig condoms, birth control pills, etc don't exist anymore lmao" but then i realized something

it's fucking Japan guys, the county with its lowest birth rate of 1.16 (as of 2026, idk if that number has changed at all)

so maybe JP doesn't want a good majority of it's manga readers to know about condoms, birth control pills, etc cause yeah JP's birth rate is on a bad decline sadly

but this might be just me being cracked out cause sleep is for the weak and maybe there's some other explanation for this like birth control is banned or something
oh look another "JaPAn buRtH RaTE"
it's declining world wide, dumbass
even canada has a birth rate of only 1.3, dumbass
more than half the fucking countries has a birth rate below 2, dumbass

Absurdly stupid premise, not even gonna bother with this one. How this manga even got past a rough draft is beyond me.

really incredible comments here exemplifying everything at once. the same thing over and over again with no further contribution, refusal to read previous comments even just a few above yours, etc etc

it is funny tho that the framing/panels were so weird that so many people think they got an abortion (the pregnancy test was negative) or even had a child already (why would they be so concerned about her having to take a break from sports for 2 years as if it was a hypothetical? why would he be talking about it being his job to support her and not their family? her and their child? anything like that?) as if they were reading with their eyes closed

anyway yes, the test is negative, she was never pregnant, author even made a drawing explaining this, as a previous comment mentioned. the text has her also explain that it was just that they got into a situation where she needed to take the test in the first place, which seems to be the big scare. they thought she might've gotten pregnant until the test was taken.

their issue seems to be as they say, "getting swept up in the moment," aka not having planned/careful sex, and instead just doing it when/wherever, and thusly not having a condom on hand (doesn't make it less silly though..)

I guess there are no pills, condoms, IUDs, or any other form of contraceptive known to mankind in this manga. What a dumb premise.

Thanks for the chapter!
reasonable explanation be damned, the sex is just that crazy period

I can’t tell if this is supposed to be a woman fantasy with an adorable, supportive house husband or a mail fantasy with a hot athletic wife who’s obsessed with you?

also guys common! Like… what if his dick is so big they can’t find any comdoms big enough. 😆

People are taking this way too seriously. Did everyone miss the comedy tag? The author isn't expecting us to root for them and their self-restraint.

We're supposed to laugh at them and their self-inflicted torture.
If only the comedy tag was true
