We stand corrected! Thanks for the extra infoWhat, no. Taiyo ni Hoero! (Roar at the Sun!) was a huge detective drama, one of the most popular Japanese television shows of all time. Not niche at all, just old.
The OST is also a banger, so it's no surprise it's being used as a ring tone. Also pretty sure this isn't the first time it's come up in the manga.
Taiyo ni Hoero! OP
Even after the QC pass I think the biggest factor as to why this mistake keeps happening is because of assumed context. My interpretation of the words, especially considering your previous feedback, was to always stay faithful to the original pronouns of the raw text unless it's obvious who he's referring to.Thank you for the hard work translating, but man, your translation QC really needs to step up. There's misplaced pronouns again.
First page: "If there's a guy that you can't stand" (Narrator isn't talking about himself, so it shouldn't say "I". Narrator usually starts the chapter talking to the readers.)
Page 2: "Koshimura-kun, you guys match". (the old guy is commenting on the two other guests wearing matching clothes, he is not including himself in this sentence because his clothes has a slightly different pattern)
I'm confused how this is constantly happening, guys. Like, isn't the translator working directly off the manga raw pages? Surely the context cues would be visible just by looking at the panels? I don't have the raws myself, I'm just correcting based on what is visible on the page.
Yeah, I did to translation for a while, so I get that people sometimes slips up. Especially if there's a big workload and you just get tired and read things wrong. I don't want to be harsh since this is a volunteer effort. I just... don't understand why this is happening because it had looked so obvious to me.Even after the QC pass I think the biggest factor as to why this mistake keeps happening is because of assumed context. Still, you were on the mark since the original line is "なんとなくムシの好かない奴がいて", and I should've paid more attention to 奴がい if anything. Thanks a lot for the feedback, and I've already updated the chapter to revise the problems.
