this is such a gem of a series.
The dynamic between the two leads is just wonderful; considerate, but with lots of little bits of friction that only serve to draw them closer together. Tenshin's gruff and blunt and immensely caring and considerate, and the fact that Mizuka is slowly bringing him around to applying those latter two to himself is a lovely dynamic for them both.
The art's just amazing as well, and the portrayal of the Ryuujin's facets and characteristics are intriguing and more than a little original - like the "spirit tail" and the way the wings appear visually (plus the little details like how Tenshin's shirts/'top wear' operate to accommodate them), and the mechanical realities like how Tenshin can't just "take off" and needs either height, or a running start. Just good design work and thought processes behind it all.
And of course the penguin in this extra highlights the silliness that the author is capable of in between the deeper themes and concepts on display. A story of the mundane smashed up against the fantastic, but utterly relatable in the very humanistic sentiments and emotions and hopes & fears weaving through.
Can't wait to see more. Very glad I found this series, and I am grateful for the wonderful work and care put in by the TL team.
