From what I remember, there is already an official English release of volumes 1–5, so I doubt I'll be doing those. As for volume 6, there isn't one, hence the commission.

Could you point me to where you got this information? I'm pretty sure absolutely nothing by Morohoshi has ever been released in English but I'd be happy to be wrong about this.

Actually, it might've actually been the French release. I was told by the commissioner that they got Vol. 1-5 from a bookstore in France.

Seems to be the case. Well, French market is pretty much the best in terms of manga quality outside of Japan. English-speaking world is missing out on a lot.
