an item of the list of things that NEVER happened in the history of mankind:
- Not fooling around with your teenage girlfriend after she comes over and has a shower

@havelmom I get why it never happens, because it would be smut and technically rape, but I would still like MMC to at least be more conflicted about it. The libidoless protagonists are so irritating.

@BCS
"technically rape"
what? lmfao no, that's not what that word means at all
there is also no need for 'smut' scenes
did horimiya have smut scenes?
also I was talking about fooling around, doesn't necessarily imply sex. You can make out with a girl without getting her pregnant ?

I was pointing it out because seems like the author was never put into this situation, if she/he did, he/she would have known how rare it is for nothing at all to happen.
isekai is more believable than this chapter

@BCS @havelmom To the whole teenage girlfriend thing and to Nakatoka-sensei's defense - I'm not sure if the teenage romance dynamic applies here given the age gap and the teacher-student relationship. Also the fact that he's working on an off day - Sunday, given that he'll see her tomorrow - likely means there's a lot of work and that gettig intimate with Amai is the last thing on his mind (I'm not a teacher though, so I can't say if work-outside-of-work is common). And he's the type to get lost in his work (ref. this chapter and last chapter).

That said - yeah, Sensei could've been more intimate. And maybe he was. Manga is really just a series of snapshots, and it's possible that those parts were elided because Nakatoka-sensei didn't feel like they'd contribute to the message she was trying to get across. Sensei is capable of intimacy though - ref. the beach and Christmas chapters. You can fold the respective kiss panels into this one if you feel it fills in the gaps.

@havelmom by "technically rape" I meant "statutory rape", since he's her teacher and so there's usually laws for that specific situation because of power dynamic and yadda yadda.

And isn't the author a woman?

the law can't just make something rape by calling it so. but objectively this already is rape more or less if he doesn't have her father's permission.

we need more flashback like this it's so good

Okay, there's some cultural subtext going on here that might be missed by some. I myself didn't know about it for the longest time until someone explained it to me.
Basically, in Japan, when a man and a woman get together, going and taking a shower is basically their lowkey way of saying, "I'm preparing my body to be clean so we can have sex." To the point where a woman being with you and saying that she'll take a shower can even be the offer of sex. (I actually looked this up afterwards to see if that person was bullshitting me, and I found a pretty funny account of an American dude living in Japan and him being confused when his girlfriend suddenly asked him if she should take a shower and he was like, "Um, no?". Only later did HE find out that she was wanting to have sex with him and it was one of those Japanese cultural things of beating around the bush (no pun intended).) There's a reason why you constantly see characters showering as soon as they get to a love hotel or you see that they get nervous when they're together and have to shower. That's because, usually, it means sex. Like the whole "Netflix and chill" meme and whatnot.
