It's been on hiatus since the beginning of this year (2026). Tetsuyama-sensei is on maternity leave. We have about 12 more chapters to release, but we've been slow-rolling them, hoping serialization would restart. Currently, we plan to release what we have weekly. So is the manga going on hiatus for a year or did I misread that in the extra?
They don't even use each other's given names. What do you think? Are they going to kiss🛐😖
I see. Thanks for the reply 🙏🏾 appreciate u. I was worried the author was sick or something so this is the best case scenario 😮💨It's been on hiatus since the beginning of this year (2026). Actually, yes. We considered both options but ultimately decided that if Ohsio stole her chastity, Kazuharu would probably consider that 'damage,' even if Koharu wasn't 'hurt' by it, so he would use that phrasing to be clear.@Falstaff
Is there a reason you went with "if you damage" instead of "if you'll hurt" on page 5? "Damage someone" doesn't feel natural, imo.
I dunno. I never heard someone use verb "damage" towards a person (unless it's paired with a "goods", which, well, obviously would not be appropriate for a loving father's remark, even for a strict one).Actually, yes. So I decided to ask K about this again.I dunno. I never heard someone use verb "damage" towards a person (unless it's paired with a "goods", which, well, obviously would not be appropriate for a loving father's remark, even for a strict one).
If you still think that "hurt" doesn't really convey what author wanted to, then, perhaps, "harm" would be a better choice?
Wouldn't "defile"/"sully" be fine in this case then? Maybe "dishonor", if those two sound a bit too direct. So I decided to ask K about this again.
The line 疵物にする (kizumono ni suru) is an idiom for ruining a woman’s honor or purity, usually by sleeping with her or ruining her reputation. Literally, it means "To damage or mark as defective", so a direct translation would be “If you turn my daughter into damaged goods, I’ll kill you.”, but that sounds really stilted. Some other possible choices might be "ruin", "defile", or "sully". If I'd wanted to go total milquetoast, I could have used "take advantage of," but it loses the “ruined for life” weight.
So “hurt” or “harm” is totally wrong for what is trying to be conveyed here. I'm going to stick with my original wording choice. It's close to the original Japanese, and it also fits Kazuharu's stiff, formal way of talking.
If it's really too confusing, we could add a TN for the idiom, but personally I want as few notes as possible. If Komorebi had their way, there would be notes on every page.![]()
