good day gentlemen
apologies for the rather slow schedule, this chapter was a pain to translate (have you seen how big the credits page was?) so it was rather awful to get through it. the next ones don't look nearly as bad though, we're out of the tunnel and out of the woods
additionally i was busy with some stuff, but i recently managed to make some time in my schedule, so you can somewhat reasonably expect uploads to slowly pick up steam now. assuming i get off my ass

in any case. the THE敵 situation! here's what I managed to find, if it maybe helps anyone help me
i've spoilered it because it is lonnggggg and i know most of you don't care

"THE敵" / "THE teki" -- literally "THE Enemy". from the way the chapter is going, and going on past hikaru shenanigans, this seems like the time he'd point out the reference that these characters would be from. like "oh, this guy looks like x from y..." because that's what the authors used as inspiration for these characters. and since shiretto/parakou are le funny xD 4th wall breaking manga/webseries they can use hikaru as a convenient vessel to point out that this is, indeed, a reference, for comedic effect.
the problem is that i have no clue what THE敵 is supposed to mean, and any and all searches on every search engine i can make come up woefully inconclusive. searching for THE敵 raw returns a book called "敵" ("Enemy") that seems to be a historical war novel, which doesn't seem to have any relation. searching for "THE敵" with the quotation marks included (which forces a 100% match of the term in between the quotes) returns a flash game (i think? site isn't loading) called "I wanna be the 敵か!味方か!大根マン!". it's one of those chinese rage games i believe, the top result seems to be a review site specifically for fangames of the same series. there's more info but tl;dr this is absolutely not it chief
anything else i search comes up inconclusive. the one, remaining, probable answer, is that hikaru is saying something like "oh, so this is THE enemy, huh?" with the THE in english as to emphasize that they are obviously like The Big Bad Evil Guys or something. The One And Only, or the like. this doesn't make much sense either. but it's the only thing that makes any sense, so i'm kinda forced to add this to be at least somewhat faithful to the source material? the digested line you saw in the chapter, "Looks like the bad guys are here...", does at least make sense in context, so. for what it's worth hikaru uses "敵" alone a lot for the rest of the chapter, calling them enemies, so this is more likely than you'd think. but still seems off to me. like i can't reasonably say this is the correct answer.

in all honesty this is probably like a copyright free version of what they're referencing. like a slightly changed name of what they intend to reference. shiretto/the parakou webseries don't uuusually do this. but the webseries at least seems to have been doing this recently?
big example: this video [[<< VOLUME WARNING - TURN YOUR YOUTUBE LANGUAGE TO JAPANESE TO NOT HAVE YOUR EARS BLASTED AND PERMANENTLY DAMAGED BY THE GOOGLE EXECUTIVE RAY OF DEATH]] - yamikawa is saying (female) hikaru looks a lot like "byokocchi" from "motawata". (female) hikaru here looks a lot like mokocchi (main character) of watamote (full name "watashi ga motenai no wa dou kangaetemo...", a.k.a. global femcel mascot anime), so that is absolutely what they're referencing.
it might just be that parakou and/or shiretto got in hot legal shit for mentioning copyrighted material so much, considering that (AS FAR AS I KNOW) ((AND FOR THE RECORD, I AM NOT A LAWYER)) japanese intellectual property law is very strict on stuff like this if the party which references the other (in this case, parakou/shiretto) is an original work, and not a fanwork/doujin. (which, for the record, parakou/shiretto are original.) i would think it's possible this happened, but this is just my conjecture
or well, technically, i believe japanese intellectual law is incredibly strict regardless, it's just that indie works (weebs will call them "doujins") don't get struck out of an implicit understanding that they're not obstructing business and are actually generating free publicity in a way. but the details of japanese intellectual property laws are a mist to me, one that will only properly be dispelled when shiretto does its long-awaited law arc where they parody phoenix wright and it's peak cinema kino and martin scorsese sheds a tear because of how good it is and i shed a tear because of how much legal research i have to do to translate it :c

i've tried some alternate ways of searching this up, e.g. "THE味方" ("THE Ally"), "ザ敵" ("THE Enemy" but with "THE", but still no results. i'm stumped. mb gang

Thanks for the chapter (and congrats on getting every achievement in Silksong)

Who would have thought that I am getting emotionally invested in tea ceremony now.

I don't think "THE敵" is a specific reference. I've seen "the" used online or in manga/animee as a way to indicate the thing that follows is like an exemplar or platonic ideal. Maybe the word "the" makes an impact from being used in titles all the time (as in like "The Something") and ended up with a warped meaning.

How do I follow the YouTube channels story btw?
easy 3 step process

STEP 1: learn japanese

STEP 2: the parakou webseries does major "arcs" with multiple parts/episodes around once per season (each 3 months, ish, they skip some though). you can find each arc in their playlist section. like "summer arc 2023", "spring arc 2024", "summer arc 2025" etc. naturally you just watch those in the order they were released and you're theoretically good to go
this is NOT a complete list, mind you; there are some other more minor arcs. like for example hikaru switched genders a few weeks ago; that was a two-parter but not quite a big "seasonal" arc

videos outside of arcs are for the most part episodic gag skits that are mostly isolated. however, they DO feature status quo changes from the most recent arc (and arcs before that), such as new characters being introduced (heeko's brother got introduced like two arcs ago and nowadays he's featured in like half the episodes coming out).
to be "up to date", whenever you want to watch an episode, you should have already watched all the arcs prior to it.

...but, then again, parakou is a largely episodic series to begin with. there are no major plot twist, no chekhov's guns being set up and fired. in other words there's not like any major spoilers that would happen if you were to watch a standalone episode out of order, without the preceding arcs

STEP 3: learn japanese. like for real i really hope you know japanese! seriously, the auto ai dubbing is awful, both in translation quality and in audio quality. and even if you DO know japanese, prepare to feel 1% of the pain that i feel whenever i translate a chapter of this manga with how many memes, pop culture references, and slang you'll have to google
also i don't know where lane (the videoseries unofficial translator) is nowadays. i believe they said they're not gonna do that many isolated episodes, prioritizing doing the big arcs first and foremost. but in any case they seem to be busy and haven't posted in a while

tl;dr just pick whatever video looks interesting man
