I don't think Japanese authors seem to understand how much power and influence war heroes have. The general populace would be more likely to suspect nefarious ongoings in the government than genuinely believe that a war hero was actually evil. If they really want to have the protagonist experience such a betrayal, it would be more sensible to make her a grunt of some sort.

While I do agreed with that, a necromancer doesn’t conjure up the same feelings a hero does. No matter the intentions they would be looked down upon because what if there undead is one of your loved ones that passed. So it’s easy to sway political opinion.

So far though I am enjoying the story as I love a good romantic tragedy and it’s even better when it has revenge in it.

I really enjoyed the beginning, but I can never get behind the forced romance trope, especially when the FL is made to seem crazy for disliking being forced into a relationship, a marriage in this case. I just can't see the revenge being any good with the focus shifting towards romance, but I'll hold out hope that they don't take an interesting start and flatten it out with a "because of the power of (stockholm-syndrome-esque) love, I don't want revenge anymore even though you literally killed me and that was my whole life's purpose until now." A good revenge story can have good romance elements, but if you have to rely on quite literally forcing the leads together, I can't say I have very high hopes for the future chapters.

The art and character design is "OK (but the size of the chrs x environment is weird all the time)", the adapted plot is "OK (they changed a lot of things and there's a lot more drama now lol) and that's it. I think it would have been better to adapt it to a LN, but the WN is still enjoyable to read (i'm happy for the og author)~:nyoron:💦
P.s. I don't know if it was a mtl error, but apparently they whitewashed the Demon King in this adaptation?lol

Did all the newer chapters go due to the big DMCA strike? The old chapters remaining makes this confusing...
