Nah, what you call awful CG actually not that bad. Its still enjoyable and not really noticable

At least they didn't make this an isekai.
There're many 'should be just fantasy' mangas that the authors made it an isekai for no reason.

Story has potential and the kid is cute enough, but the mangaka is really cutting a lot of corners by relying entirely on CG for backgrounds and objects to save time. Felt like I was reading a cheap manhua with how egregious it was. Combined with the constant high contrast shots between light and dark it definitely hurts the immersion.
