I hope this line from the chapter doesn't have any significant to Akebi's Sailor Uniform: "When I was told I would be in charge of an artist... that an artist shouldn't have multiple serializations'.

Hiro mentioned on Xitter that he looks forward to the challenge of maintaining two serializations at once, so I'm not feeling particularly worried.

The mangaka is probably a girl, judging by her appearance and people’s reactions to her haircut
Actually, the original text didn't use any gendered terms except for “watashi” which is generally feminine, but can also be used by both genders in formal situations like here.

A full shave does stick out esp if they're not wearing a baseball uniform. I assume she shaved it off due to stress or so/feel 'freeing' and such
