My brain is just hijacked by the author's artwork as usual, but I'm just so worried that something's up with Sensei, health-wise. It felt like she was gonna finally say something in the onsen about what's really going on, having only brought her manuscripts, and being "unable to keep [her] life together", but. Can't give the plot away this early in.

But holy hell the emotions and humanness just leap right off the page. Even the little detail of Toori's smile reflected in the onsen water was...just such a visual moment. The cropped shots of eyes, of the bits of expression in the mouth. The fast-paced interactions but the pauses on Tooru's face each time, all culminating in their face-to-face phone call. It hurts to look at, with how authentic and lovely it all is.

I sincerely hope this isn't a story of an artist waiting to die and only finding "life" at the end of it all through someone who cared enough to push through the walls. If it is, it'll be beautiful, no doubt, and worth reading, but.
Yeah. Happy endings, please.

Manic Pixie Therapy Girl?

I can relate to our nervous-breakdown author character. Making art requires a lot of faith in yourself, and faith that others will like what you make. The stuff you put out has a bit of your soul in it. Every work of art is a self portrait, in a sense. And if that work is ever dismissed or poorly received, it's like spit in the face. A knife in the heart.

Even if the work is well received, you feel intense pressure that you need to push it to be better and better. Your normal starts feeling like it's not good enough. Then in grad school you have a nervous breakdown and destroy all your immediate relationships and get hospitalized for self-harming. It can happen to anyone!

As a bald-liker, I'll be sad if the happy ending for this manga is one where she'll have her hair grown. We got the rarest instance of bald yuri right here.

Thanks for the chapter!

I think I missed that the sensei and the editor are near age. Now that kinda makes it look even weirder visually lol.

Also weird, that I think I preffer this series to stay out of romantic relationships. Granted that Akebi exists, but I hope the author will keep the artist - editor/caretaker dynamic.
