Said it. I really had doubts for a few chapters that "The Will of the World" was really the will of the world and it seems I was right.
But I do wonder if it might be an entity from another world or something mortal what ascended.

I'm probably wrong. But "will of the world" feels like some meta writing stuff going on. Like they're circling around saying that Will of the World is just the author/readers throwing shit at "their" world for amusement.

Ah I wish we could get weekly updates in this series, such a brilliant story and so above a lot of the stuff coming out. Imagine an anime adaption by a decent studio without any CGI? Offt, yes please!

I wonder to what degree the spirit designed it's Avatar. Did it decide "hmm, rather than hollows like unto an abyss into which the mind plumets lets try shiny eyes, that would be charming"

I really love the design of both. An attractive humanoid body sure, but a face only gesturing in a human direction without eeven approaching the uncanny valley.

Ok ok theory time!!! The Will of the World has destroyed the world's defense mechanisms as the Great Spirit said. And the actual will and fate of the world isn't favorable towards humans. So this Will of the World, I think, is a God. A being above the world, probably someone who was formerly a human and ascended.

Great Spirit said that MC has a similar but opposing power. MC's nigh infinite miasma/mana might've turned him into something close to a God. Not quite there yet but he's definitely touched the boundaries.

If I'm right, or at least close to the actual truth, the final answer might be a battle between the human god and the demon god.

GREAT SPIRIT GOT THAT GYAAATTTT
My guess is that it’s directly related as to why our Demon Lord can’t resurrect his beloved hero.

“Similar but opposing power” doesn’t necessarily mean that the Will of the World has the opposite power to the Demon Lord.

It could just mean the Demon Lord has the power to ACTUALLY oppose the power of the Will, which makes sense when you consider how the Great Spirit said the Will has destroyed other safety mechanisms in the past.

Much like how the Great Spirit said that the Demon Lord’s current actions wouldn’t turn the guardians against him, the Will can probably avoid being attacked even when removing those safety mechanisms by simply staying within the rules.

My guess is that the Will is another entity like the Demon Lord who also has control over souls. But whereas the Demon Lord works through necromancy and the undead, the Will has more control over the living and is able to choose who gets reincarnated. The Will was able to drag John Doe’s spirit over so it would possess Ethan’s body as a split personality.

And I’m willing to bet that the final “boss” the Demon Lord will have to face before stopping the Will is going to be the reincarnated soul of his loved Hero.
