Insanity. That's all I'm thinking every chapter. I really liked the ending of the first story so here it's all bonus but I'm a bit disappointed by the explanation of this crazy set up.
There's no way people just forgot the day billions of aliens locusts ate 40% of humanity, so much that they did a 180° to worship them. Imo it would have been better to just make this an alternative story where the deal was not kept secret from the population ans not confined to the Cradle
