He should be able to see that his counterpart, that wilfully blind "Larx", will help the racist kingdom annihilate people he loves.
So he should at a minimum talk to the hero. If he can convince him to leave the employ of the Jeneret kingdom, that might be an acceptable minimum level of involvement.
I'd also say he should capture the prince, and tell the kingdom they can have him, if they release all the demihumans, and forbid enslavement of demihumans. If that doesn't work, he should remove the rest of the ruling family, and tell those taking over after them that the same will continue happening until his demands are met.
But no, he probably won't have the fortitude to do anything like that.
