I really feel like I'm relearning things about history that I've forgotten.

I really like how this Party grew. How come Shara not part of it!? 😭😭

The way how this Kingdom escaped from poverty does feel force but maybe I'm too used to Isekais where the MC already knows.

this is such a cheating deus ex machina thing. How can a near crumble country finds a mountain of "gold" that will prosper their country suddenly.

That was neat. While still a descendant of the old Great Empire thing, they take a completely opposite direction than the Phoenician and Venediks and the story manage to did it in a very natural way. Instead of seeing their gains and goes "this is what makes them great", they instead see the losses and believe as "this is what makes them fail".

Hmm, I think you have a point, but I don't think it's that completely out of nowhere.

For this manga specifically, the thing about using tree branches against the proud ex-vassal is very convenient. I don't see Mahmut, who aside from his hawk, always seem to be a pretty straightforward to have the creativity to use tree branches as weapons. The pride is also just mentioned when the battle just started. Without those two, it would've been suicidal to fight it out in open field --- Same thing with the Chinese old man, hostage tent, and arrow's feather that almost started the war (though feather, I think, make sense since Mahmut is a falconer).

To have another fiction's example, I think it's kinda similar to how in Star Trek: Next generations they kinda always win in the end, whether it's during conversation between characters or the story's conflicts in general.

I don't have too much example about history, but I think during Japan's Sengoku Jidai, under Takeda Shingen, many new gold mines were opened. Combined that with the new knowledges they gain from the foreigners, they profit a lot and it becomes a pretty major factor on why the Takeda is as big as they are.

Plus, this one kinda is, bird shit. It's probably normal to not expect much from that.

Oh wow, I should've cut more of that.

Basically, my point was this one isn't too convenient since they at least give it a little foreshadowing. The examples in 2nd paragraph are the things I believe are actually that convenient.

Not sure what my point was with Star Trek and Takeda's gold mines, maybe historical examples of what feels likean ass pull? Idk.

You should learn history more, Deus ex Machina is extremely prevalent on our real life history as well as cartoonishly evil villain without clear reason. If anything the Deus ex thing made the whole thing more realistic.
