I think you underestimate Matsuri.

I hope so, I would love to be wrong there. It just seemed plausible because of what she's done to the previous boys in Wakaba's life. It would actually be pretty fun for Umezono to actually try that with Matsuri and have it backfire horribly on her because she's too smart to fall for it. Would it be the first time Umezono has failed at something?

Why is she coming up with that pity talk and blaming Komaki, when she literally voluntarily goes along without, just for being stupid 🥲
And then talks about genuinely loving Matsuri, yeah nah

Huh, going back and rereading this chapter, something no one seems to have pointed out yet is that Matsuri must have clearly seen the hickeys that Wakaba was worried about showing her. She also seemed to be aware that Wakaba and Komaki were playing hooky together last chapter; she must be aware that Komaki and Wakaba's relationship is sexual to some extent at this point.

Given this story's propensity for toxicity, I'm really beginning to expect that Matsuri's personality is a facade for something darker. Maybe she's trying to interfere in what she perceives as a romantic relationship for her own selfish reasons. But she also did know Wakaba and Komaki in middle school. Maybe she knows about what Komaki did and is trying to protect Wakaba from her in a roundabout way. I've suddenly become so invested in learning what's actually happened between these characters
