I dont think that prejudice works like that at all, not in real life at least. There is usually a specific fear attached to it.The author understands prejudice so well.
"Who Knows". They just hate them for no reason, they've never done anything wrong. They're just poor, innocent animals who would never hurt a fly.
Sometimes the hate can go on for so long people have forgotten the original reason for it. And it just ends up like "dwarves hate elves cause they're knife ears" or somethingI dont think that prejudice works like that at all, not in real life at least. There is usually a specific fear attached to it.
In any case this manga is very thematically dense: its a novel adaptation?

You're thinking of phobias.I dont think that prejudice works like that at all, not in real life at least. There is usually a specific fear attached to it.
In the chapters before it was stated that it's alluded to a time in history existing where humans and the nomads were equal but the princes brush it off quickly, we are probably witnessing generations after the wars and violence on the nomads where as you say people hate and berate them for no reason aside from "who knows"You're thinking of phobias.
Prejudice in real life starts from observing consistent patterns of behavior. Like being prejudiced against Wasps after being stung by them.
Then it spreads to other people when they see or hear about the Wasps second-hand. There might be a fear of being stung involved in that specific example, but it doesn't need to be there.
Anyways, all the different tribes in this manga chose to violently oppress the animal-hearing tribe for no reason at all.
In this story, the reason for their prejudice is religious, as alluded to in the prince's dialogue. Kind of like the mark of Ham being used to justify chattel slavery or any religion with women - doesn't have to be fear, it just needs to make life more convenient for people with more raw power and ability to enact violenceI dont think that prejudice works like that at all, not in real life at least. I think it might also be that Ceska and Mendoza(?) are friends (or at the very least the Princess "allows" Ceska to be her friend) and roommates. In one of the previous chapters, when Ceska is thinking about being friends with Shiki, the Princess comes down from the bed above Ceska's, so it seems they live together in the dorm.I know it’s moreso a nothing burger in the grand scheme of things, but why does the Seramis Princess care so much about whether Cesca gets married with Shiki?
For the long haired Prince (Yumel?) it’s understandable because he has a crush on Cesca but for her it’s not clear?
I guess it could just be a simple case of arranged marriages in royalty and being restricted from making your own decisions which would make sense given she’s more out spoken. So she doesn’t want to see Cesca go through with a marriage she has no say in?
It could also just be her being used to being fawn over because of her beauty so Shiki not doing so pisses her off, but that would be a lame reason.
I’m just wondering out loud because she’s so vehemently opposed to it 🤔
