I also prefer how the Manhua did it. Feels like the MC is just doing his job by killing\neutralising her for the greater good instead of being petty like in the novel.

The manhua is handling it better than the light novel, if hes going to be that scheming from the get go having fully planned everything out, then he is going to be expected to be like if kira was in game of thrones doing like 7000 iq plays. Simply put such a story requires a different type of pacing than what I assume is to be a gag comedy novel about some guy wanting to leave a pretty awesome looking setup.
