Pretty much every tragic event so far has been connected to the overall plot of the criminal reincarnators and Chris' search for them. If a tragedy is directly connected to the immediate plot then I wouldn't call it pointless, unless you're calling the story itself pointless, which I guess is fair.

But I like this manga so far. It's a bit better than your average revenge slop stories. The writing is decent, and there's some actual logic to all the characters' actions, even with the criminals.

there was the already established tragedy that set up this world and the plot, that was fine, anything after that is pointless. Having another tragedy to reinforce this point every other chapter does nothing for the plot, it's just excessive, the MC already hates himself and the criminals, it's just there to be torture porn. Plus tonally, this story doesn't know what it wants to be, does it want to be over the top and wacky, or grim dark and serious? it can't be both.

No, we just dropped it for a while 'cause we got caught up with our other series. Anyway, I'll (I'm the JTL) try to catch up the raws for now, although it's gonna be a royal pain in the butt because of how text-heavy the chapters are lmao.
