It would work even better, because he'd be suffering for longer and in different ways than just bullying. The angel would have more time to fall in "love" with him in her yandere way, making the destruction of mankind make more sense from her point of view

Tf? I'm not trying to relate, and why are you assuming I'm a black company worker? I just don't want to see a grow woman creaming herself for a kid, not because I'm jealous but because I find it gross.

I honestly believe it would make the story better. What would a pre-pubescent know about the significance of love, marriage, and the destruction of an entire city

but I think it needs to be a fairly recent event (which gives deep depression or traumatic story)
so that it can give more impact feeling when the angel is finally introduced to give him "salvation"

if he can cope up with a long suffering and still be a working adult, I think that it would be much more logical that he is the one becoming evil and wipe out the humanity when he finally snaps,
and then maybe we get a sexy demon onee-san instead of angel

I guess the middle ground is it will be better if he is in high school or a neet dropout
