@Ironclad From the info we have, they are pretty much in a futurisc society that is about to reach post scarcity tech, so in reality the only thing they can sell anymore actually is history and brand renown, since most AIs do the entire work of developing and shipping the drugs.
Which is the only way socialism would work.

@boag Maybe something was lost in translation because there's a difference between a company having brand recognition and being traditional (outdated). Bayer is more than 150 years old, but they haven't been able to rest on their laurels. Post-scarcity only increases the competition as everyone has access to pharmaceuticals. Completely non-vital goods like automobile manufacturers and fashion designers need to innovate more than anyone.

okayy so it doesnt seem that bad for him. he isnt like the usual "depressed nearly suicidal" salaryman guy, he has a girlfriend too and the work doesnt seem that horrific all things considered. I wonder what Elisa's Group will do with him. if they're against the UW then I dont know if having him mate would be what they want.

also I guess number 4's distinction out of the rest is that he's a father already eh?
