Man so sad to see people calling Reito "beta mc" there distinction in my case between beta in this manga and the other harem manga. The beta mc in my book is inconsistent, indecisive coward that run away from problem, and cannot choose what better to solve the problem instead fooling around like a spineless wimp. In Reito case here for me he is alpha male, instead surrender to his lust and temptation like some low life man-whore whip out his dick to every girl he met, he choose to refuse all that and stay faithful and loyal to the one he love, there is pride and honor between man.

He'd literally been in love with his Erisa for 10 years before going into cryostatis and never told her how he felt. Then when he does tell her, she tells him that SHE KNEW. She knew he was in love and she literally friendzoned him the whole time, either ignoring it and hiding her own feelings, if she had any.
Then he literally tells her to go date someone else. That's literal self-cucking behavior, telling the woman you love to go have sex with another man.
So this is not his wife, this is not his girlfriend. They've never dated a single day in their lives. True, he CAN rest fairly assured that she's not with another man now after waking up and finding he's 1 of 5 men left alive. However, now presents itself a new problem:
There are 5 men (only 2 of whom at this point in time were awake), and 4 billion women on the planet, and the literal future of the species depends on him. You can't leave it to a single man, because then every single new child on the planet will be siblings. You absolutely need as much genetic diversity as possible. We're talking literal extinction of the human race here...
And he's hung up on a girl he NEVER DATED. A girl that has never told him "I love you" back. And even if she was there, and even if she DID love him too, he STILL has the most compelling case possible for a moral obligation to impregnate as many other women as possible. At the very least, they ought to have him wanking it daily for in-vitro fertilization possibilities (I don't recall if they talked about why that isn't an option), but he definitely needs to be contributing 100% of his sperm toward the survival of the human race.
But you two think he's being an 'alpha male' by refusing to save mankind? That it's somehow better, more noble, for him to be hung up on a girl that he may literally never see again (she is a wanted terrorist after all) rather than save the world? And of course the MC is smart enough to realize exactly what's going on -- he is a medical student, after all. He should know very well the problems the world will face without him impregnating as many women as he can. The world's most precious resource, they tell him in Chapter 1. And they're right. @LysandersTreason Beside loyalty and all that there other reason the author make him like this, first of all if he or the other remaining male impregnate women, and then any guarantee new born male baby will survive ? been a while so i forgot the story line about virus and all, but all new born baby will die because of virus, and if he like other surviving male enjoying harem life and fuck all girl all day long, there's no one will solve the problem, he the only one aware there something goes wrong. So he try avoid to be seduced by other girl, that prevent him to investigate the problem.

My one real complaint on Reito is his tendency to overreact to any naked female body, so much he actually up and runs away while apologizing. It's not so much that it's Reito doing it, it's more like I have the memory of several instances in other anime-esque stories to rely on. It's personally just such an annoying trope to see regurgitated, and it's especially common in harem scenarios to portray fanservice without sacrificing the gap in intimacy between the protag and any of the girls. Other than that, this guy acts like he's never been shown a porno before.
The majority of their male offspring would not be immune to the virus, because the five males are only immune due to an abnormality in their genetic code. This is because the virus was specifically designed to attack the male genome and their immunity is because of an abnormal mutation in their genetic code. The same loopholes would only exist of they passed the same genetic flaws onto their offspring. So if the children are born healthy, they'd still die. But in all likelihood the virus is no longer an airborne threat and unless another round of the virus is unleashed, any future offspring should be unaffected. Without a cure however, all the men in cryostasis will remain freezie pops.
