This was a pretty enlightening chapter. His constant chiding and familiarity with Hildy given this context makes a lot of sense. An absurdly innocent infatuation that transformed into a deep jealousy, influencing the fate of humanity. I feel some pity for Loki. What a sad life.

I like this Loki. He's a little pathetic, which is nice when pretty much every other God has been "I am incredibly strong and important and this has shaped every facet of my life, for better or worse."

The follow-through might be awful, though. Depends which way the author takes it.

Now I’m curious as to how Sieg and Brunhilde met. Was it actually how Loki perceived it and Sieg just showed up one day or did Brunhilde have a history with Sieg that Loki was simply unaware of. Like did Loki even have a chance from the beginning or was it doomed from the start. Nothing he did after the fact was justified but he’s definitely not a cuck by definition. He’s a huge simp though.

Loki is not my favorite character but I do likes his trickster power, anyway, he doesn't know what true love is because no one have shown it to him, sure maybe his mother Laufey did (but not his dad, fuck Odin) but that is maternal love, or maybe in this manga, Laufey hates Loki as well.
So when Brunhilde smiled at him, his heart went 'doki doki', and later on, he went 'literature club' way. Remember, Loki is a young God, and it's hard to measure his maturity on a human scale, but he is self-aware of that guiltiness and still decides to brush it off.
About Thor, he seems like a stoic, serious person, which, well, is not a good fit to show Loki what true love is.
