it was in like volume 2 so i dont blame you for forgetting but there's a scene where he comforts Teru on a funeral that i assumed was Mei's funeral but now i think it might have been Haru's

The scene was expanded upon later on, and other heroes like Pepesha and Unilord showed up
Teru just didn't know them yet back then
