My guess:
Morris marries into Lowengreen family, he'd be getting out of the count house thus no longer competing with his brother and get an upgrade in peerage. He's a nice guy and capable at work but he lacks the initiative, so Lowengreen can be the one to take charge.

Alcarto and Seria, she can open a restaurant and have his siblings help out.

Arkana and Marichez, she can fund his research and he's got status she seek.

Which leave Veramude with Siri, power couple (both have aura) and he's actually in position to help her if the Emperor try something.
