Give it to me straight doc how bad does it get?Man, the comment interaction with this story flatlined hard huh.
The protag must have become too unlikable to most readers and they all gave up and left I guess.
(Including me, I only read it on a whim to see how it gets to the future events I saw in spoilers)
I don't remember the full details now sorry, but you can find them on the comments of previous chaps.Give it to me straight doc how bad does it get?
It's one of those manga that started off pretty good, but unfortunately hit the point of "Do I want to keep reading this?"Man, the comment interaction with this story flatlined hard huh.

According to spoilers from a previous thread:Give it to me straight doc how bad does it get?
He's definitely the worst part, but man, he made a mess that him not even being around will fix now. It's just kinda sad to read, especially with that summary of what happens next that you gave.Weird how this manga is way more bearable when Hayami isn't around.
I edited my original comment, check it out for extra info, from the reddit user they assume people are just hate-reading now.He's definitely the worst part, but man, he made a mess that him not even being around will fix now. I can appreciate a romance manga needs some drama to not get stale. But holy fuck this sounds asinine.According to spoilers from a previous thread:
- Mitsui tells Ono he met Yoko - as you could see from this chapter, she still loves him - and they clear things up;
- Ono and Mitsui start living together, coming back from a date they see Ono's ex-husband hanging around in fron of her place and she goes after him. His life is fucked up, the woman he cheated Ono with dumped him and she wasn't actually pregnant of his child;
- Ono's period is late, she gets that checked and finds out she can't have kids. She tells that to Mitsui and he says he is okay with that, doesn't matter, she dumps him (Chapters 34 and 35);
- Ono meets with Hayami in the gym, paparazzi take their picture, Mitsui saw that picture and gets sad;
- Ono after meeting Hayami opens her heart to him about the break up, Hayami invites her to go camping and she accepts;
- Yoko, which is now working with Ono, notices that Mitsui is sad and invites him to a walk, he tells her about the break up;
- Hayami and Ono (supsposedly) have great chemistry, he brings her back home and when she is leaving they kiss (chapter 52);
- Following chapter a new character is introduced that works for TV, she asks both Ono and Mitsui to work with her, Ono acts unfazed while Mitsui is all flustered;
- Ono is dating Hayami, but, much like the start of her relationship with Mitsui, she doesn't want people to know they are dating.
- TV woman calls Ono and Mitsui to a meeting only to meet Hayami. TV woman notices a thing between Ono and Hayami and ask if they are dating, Ono says they aren't and Mitsui is relieved. Hayami, however, says that he won't be drinking because he will be taking Ono home, she blushes and once again Mitsui gets sad;
- In the car Hayami apologises for being upfront and they kiss;
- Meanwhile, TV woman and Mitsui are drinking, he is getting wasted and he notices there were a thing between Ono and Mitsui. He wakes up half-naked, but he didn't do anything with TV woman, she just brought him home;
- Ono eventually meets her ex-boyfriend from her college days, he is a single father and - while still dating Hayami - she starts seeing herself as a stepmother;
- Eventually Ono and Hayami break up, it was a mix of him pushing her boundaries and both being too busy to meet each other;
- Mitsui is having casual sex with TV woman, not dating;
- By the way it seems like through this whole thing, Ono still has feelings for Mitsui.
Edit with more info, now from reddit, color coded because there is user 1 and user 2:
- When Ono breaks up with Mitsui after she finds out she can't have kids, they never really address the problem properly/Ono decides to unilaterally break up with Mitsui because she assumes someday he will blame her for not having kids;
- Mitsui sort of turns into a side character and starts losing his mind after the break up/first mind break happens two chapters after the break up when the tabloid publishes that picture;
- Mitsui tries to make Ono jealous - which I assume is TV woman - and that doesn't faze Ono until Mitsui actually starts a relationship with that woman;
- Then Ono realises she liked Mitsui all along, breaks up with Hayami, talks to Mitsui and he tells her he wants to keep thing just professional/Hayami is supposedly some sort of godly good guy, always there when Ono needs to talk, he empathises with her, how his wedding also ended badly/When Ono remember she still has feelings for Mitsui, she approaches him and tries to get close, but she changes subjects to work related stuff;
- New dude appears, it was Ono's ex-boyfriend from college, he works for another magazine and wants to scout her to work for him (PS: this information was in the original spoiler thread, but tbh since the writing was all over the place I couldn't place exactly when this happened so I didn't mentioned it, but since reddit made it clear, here it is);
- TV woman is around the same age as Ono;
- Hayami's public display that he is dating Ono when out with TV woman and Mitsui is because he knows Ono still has feelings for Mitsui;
- Ono meets her ex-bf, the single father, in a college reunion and he also still has feelings for her and when he finds out she is having problems at work he tries to get her to join him;
- Ono breaks up with Hayami the same way his ex-wife did with him (he told her that before their first kiss) - in this user's opinion now is when Ono turns into a bad person;
Reddit user mentioned that Japanese commenters also hate Ono.
I have been reading ahead with google translate and it seems like the author spun out of control with the story, early volume 5 makes you think everything is going perfect, but starting on chapter 34 as in a domino effect things start to go sour and, frankly speaking? Ono exaggerated. the spoilers mention she was infertile and that is not true, the doctor that examines her just assumes she might have premature menopause, she doesn't rule out Ono's chances of getting pregnant, they are just slim - after all she is also 35 years old -, so Ono just accepts defeat before fighting. As for Mitsui, he did everything right, but in the end, Ono used the age gap thing as her reasoning - even though she didn't say it - as the reason to break up, which means it was a fight she conceded and he didn't have the weapons to fightI can appreciate a romance manga needs some drama to not get stale. But holy fuck this sounds asinine.
Me personally, I didn't drop it intentionally...Man, the comment interaction with this story flatlined hard huh.

People are even feeling sorry for Hayami for the way Ono broke up with him
Yeah, I will be doing the same, I just wanted to read a wholesome romance between an old lady and a young man because the other two I read are on a hiatus basically.The fact that I actually have to take back what I said is genuinely astounding. What is this mangaka cooking?
I might honestly shift over to hate reading just to see it all happen.
What are the other two you're reading, if you don't mind me asking?Yeah, I will be doing the same, I just wanted to read a wholesome romance between an old lady and a young man because the other two I read are on a hiatus basically.
"Torima Minshuku Yadori-teki na!" and "Oshiego-kun to wa Dekimasen", I would direct link then to you here, but both were deleted in the most recent purge Mangadex went throughWhat are the other two you're reading, if you don't mind me asking?
...what does it say about me that I was already current on both of those inasmuch as they were on Mangadex?"Torima Minshuku Yadori-teki na!" and "Oshiego-kun to wa Dekimasen", I would direct link then to you here, but both were deleted in the most recent purge Mangadex went through![]()
So we are in the same boat lmao, on one side the author just vanished (almost 2 years now), on the other the team translating just dropped it because it will get an official translation, meanwhile I have not been able to find a good manga with this premise....what does it say about me that I was already current on both of those inasmuch as they were on Mangadex?
