Manga title pages have 4 recommendations below Alternative names. There is also a new button after Chapters, Comments, Art and Related.

There are "Staff Picks" and "Featured" (seasonal anime adaptations from manga) scrolling down, below "Latest Updates" there's "Random" but I think the result is tailored from the adjustments.

it's not on the main page, but rather on the title pages. it's both under the alternative names (first 4) and under its own section after "related" (much more, didn't count how many though).

But woah, I'm looking at Mob Shisai Dakedo, Kono Sekai ga Otome Game dato Kizuita node Heroine o Ikusei Shimasu and the recommendation is hardcore BL hentai.

You know sometimes, a low res image meme are funny to me, because it remind me that some memes are shared so much that it got compressed to oblivion like this one.

And yeah this happens on mangoes too, some recommendation are good, especially the The Big Bees.

Mangadex needs a way more extensive tagging system before a recommendation system based on tag similarity is going to work well. (Look at how many different tags MangaUpdates has.)
At the very least, it needs to take your filters into account. I shouldn't be opening a wholesome manga and being flashed with nearly-naked drawings because both manga have "romance" or "full color". I'm surprised they rolled it out like this.

Right, wouldn't it be a good thing, since if you're reading a manga with X trope, you would probably want to be recommended manga that also have X trope, right?
MD tags are extremely barren, whenever I upload a new series I find that I can only give two or three general tags like "romance" and "comedy". And just because another manga is "romance" and "comedy" doesn't mean it will be a good recommendation.

Color me curious what factors are considered in the new system. Are groups considered? Because honestly that's one of the better ways to get introduced to something that fits into my reading habits

I think a better feature would be giving users the ability to recommend similar manga, like how MAL does it, ૮o.o ა rather than it being automated ૮ .ᆺ. ა
